Yes, homework for Grade 2 is not just sums and Phonics, it is also about butter. They learn about making bread later at GPS Boy's Schools I hope!!! (Boom Boom... oh well I thought it was clever...) Anyhoo, butter making was performed as a team effort here for Jackie and Ethan. You see, Ethan's Mum is Saint Amanda. Saint Amanda can do anything. 2 gorgeous well mannered boys, Full time Law studies, 4 days a week in a city Law firm, moving house, and she is a hell sewer to boot. Yep - She is Saint Amanda to all us mere mortals... I digress again.... so the boys had to find their recipe on the net, then make their butter. Now did we chose the recipe where we shake the cream in a jar (for about 3 hours I calculated...) no..... we chose the food processor method, which still took ages. Then it gets mashed which was the fun part. I did ensure I gave the boys the GOOD lecture about the pre-food processor 'olden days'... Jack goes, "Ethan, you know, the olden days were before 2000..." Yes Jackie, you child of the new millenium..
So after we made butter, the boys sat down and did some of their standard homework. Check out the chuba chups...
Another job well done. Amanda turns up to collect Ethan and we shared some crisp Sav Blanc and patted ourselves on the back for being such good mums...
This morning, this was the view off my back verandah...
Spectacular eh? 6.45am. A fab sight for the morning. Darryl is a Hot Air Balloon pilot - flys Sports Balloons. Don't laugh. It really is a sport! They have World Championships. Oh stop laughing - it is true!!! He won one once.... Oh, get up off the floor now. Pull yourself together. Yes - it is a highly strategic and tactical flying skill....*smirk* at which my clever Razzle Dazzle excels. Besides, as he tells you, it used to impress the Laaaadieeeees!
